The Ocean Package company is committed to combining responsible business practices with environmental protection through sustainable reusable boxes. The highlight: in addition to approximately 50% recycled polypropylene, The Ocean Package’s reusable packaging contains between 20 and 30% “Ocean Stopped Plastic”. The latter is collected directly from rivers, beaches and coastal regions – before it reaches the sea. Advanced technologies from partner companies Healix and Oceanize are used to turn it into high-quality polymers.

Sustainable packaging is already being used throughout Europe in e-commerce and intralogistics. Customers include providers of subscription and rental systems with established recycling systems. The Ocean Package is also working on collaborations in the B2C sector, such as a partnership with the parcel service UPS on an exchange system for broken devices. Another field is the transport of goods between logistics centers and stores. Here, too, reusable packaging can be used to successfully establish goods cycles for deliveries and returns.

The customized boxes are tailored in size, shape and function to the requirements of the respective logistics processes. In addition to the packaging, AI-supported data analysis ensures efficient recycling systems. This continuous data collection and evaluation of the use and return of packaging optimises the return process, shortens goods routes, and maximises the reusability of packaging.
